EBooks – The effects of reading experiences.

How effective will reading experiences are with electronic books? This will be an interesting study to measure the reading performances on the younger generation somewhere between the ages of ten to fourteen years old. I personally believe they will experience firsthand with the future of the emerging explosion of eBooks on the internet.

The amount of resources accessible over the internet is extremely beyond the imagination. The question is how much of that reading experiences will these middle school students learn from it.

My experiences with traditional reading in my younger days were not so exciting. I get bored easily and I lose interest quickly. However, there are books that I can appreciate and actually enjoy reading. Maybe there were not as many selections to choose from compared with eBooks on the internet. Flipping the pages back and forth, attempting to understand the format and context of the book and seeing the amount of pages read is actually a reading experience. This process is alike with reading eBooks but how effective is the experience with reading in general compared to.
One of the trends on the Horizon 2011 Report, “The abundance of resources and relationships made easily accessible via the Internet is increasingly challenging us to revisit our roles as educators in sense-making, coaching, and credentialing.” is critical to control on how much time and effort do we want to see our younger generation spend over the internet. As a parent and grandparent, I would want to ensure the contents and credibility of eBooks is within their level of learning and meets educational material standards. I project these rules and policies will eventually be established for eBooks in the near future. The mobility of electronic books is the future and can be accessible anywhere at any time.

Here’s a link from the Horizon 2011 Report of “electronic books in practice” at Ashton University, Constellation https://content.ashford.edu/horizon. The program is designed based on their educational standards. At first glance, the concept looks promising and leading by example. I still prefer traditional books as they seem to be friendlier mentally and physically.

Anders Ynnerman: Visualizing the medical data explosion

Anders Ynnerman:  Visualizing the medical data explosion
While I watched this video by Anders Ynnerman, I then realize how virtual application technology can do with my research on electronic medical coding.  The amount of data that can be converted with high resolution graphics.
Exploring data virtually is definitely the future for medical technology.  Working as an IT for a medical environment has provided me with a greater respect with how new technology can do to assist our physicians and medical staff.
And lastly, the touching of data technology.  This is the future and I hope to see that type of technology in less than 5 years.  This will be a great tool for future medical students.
Think Tank should study:
1.  Exploring more on virtual applications and how much data it can produced.
2.  How can the future of touching data be of help in the real world?
